Dutch track is set to host its 50th WorldSBK race as we look back at a quarter of a century of history

In the north of the Netherlands lies a track of legendary status: the TT Circuit Assen. With 90 years having passed since the first racing in the area, the current track first came into being in 1955. Modified through the years into the track we know today, 2016 marks the 25th year that WorldSBK has visited the track.

25 years of racing and 50 races contains a lot of unforgettable and incredible moments; including those that some riders may wish to forget. Assen lends itself to great racing and great drama. With only Phillip Island having hosted more WorldSBK races to date, a large part of WorldSBK’s story is tied to that of Assen.

19 different riders have won at the track, and three of them remain on the WorldSBK grid: Jonathan Rea, Tom Sykes and Sylvain Guintoli. Before action gets underway for 2016, take a quick tour through some of the most memorable moments at the TT Circuit Assen, featuring Fogarty, Haga, Bayliss, Toseland, Biaggi, Rea, van der Mark and many more riders who have left their mark on WorldSBK history in Holland.
